OVER ONE HUNDRED EVENTS
Carmel Valley Athletic Club hosts over one hundred events annually, ranging from tennis mixers and luncheons to pool parties. Please check our current club calendar for a current schedule and contact the CVAC Concierge to sign-up.
This is a monthly event where members compete in a friendly game of Texas hold’em poker and enjoy a delicious meal provided by Chef Moises. $35 / Member. Includes dinner & buy-in. Out monthly Poker Nights culminate in the Poker Championship Tournament in November.
Sip, savor, and socialize as you stroll through the CVAC library & lounge and enjoy the finest wines California has to offer. Pinots, Chardonnays, Merlot, and Sauvignon Blancs, the menu is always changing to bring new and interesting tastes to your palate. This is a free event for all CVAC members. We have a few specialty tasting such as our Classic Cars & Corks event in August, Wine Tasting & Holiday Trunk show in November, and our Wine Tasting & Member Holiday Party in December.
Health & Wellness Seminars
Our health talks cover a wide range of interests and specialties from nutrition and fitness to the impact of technology and stress on our lives. Some of our topics include, Stress Eating, Evolution of Social Media, Spring Cleanse, Creating Healthy Teams, and Instinctive Self-Healing. Seminars are planned monthly and are listed in the monthly events calendar.
Doug Steakley Photography Presentations
Doug Steakley is a well-known photographer and CVAC Member. You can see his stunning work decorating the CVAC lobby and lounge. Once a year he shares his latest work with CVAC Members in an exclusive photography event that showcases photos from his latest travels whether it is Africa, India, or the Monterey Bay. This is one of our most popular events and should be signed up for in advance.
The Love Boat: Valentine's Dinner Dance
A night of drinks, dinner and dancing aboard the Love Boat. Enjoy a delicious three course dinner with a glass of wine and live music by Sean Ryan. Valentine date not needed. Complimentary child care provided, but must be scheduled in advance.
Chocolate Painting Class
Chef Timothy will teach students to paint on a chocolate canvas in this 2-hour art class. $45 / person. Includes painting supplies and a glass of champagne.
Member Guest Chef Series: A Persian Night at CVAC
Enjoy a delicious Persian dinner with your fellow members and friends. CVAC member, Shala Kashfi, joined our own Chef Moises in the kitchen to prepare a few dishes from her cookbook, Persian Cooking with Shala. Persian cuisine is very aromatic. It is prepared with fresh vegetables, herbs and fruits. All dishes presented are gluten free and three out of the four are vegan.

Independence Day Party
Pack your Independence Day full of fun activities, delicious food, good friends, and a tennis mixer. Start off by participating in our Family Tennis Round Robin, open to the entire family. Then head over to the pool for some competitive activities, including our water balloon toss, watermelon eating contest, inner tube races, and pie baking contest.
World Team Tennis Turkey Tournament
This is a fun team event is played representing your given country in an all-day round robin format. This is one of our most popular tennis events and should be signed up for in advance.
Toys for Tots Ladies Mixer & Luncheon
CVAC tennis is leading the way for our Toys for Tots drive with their very own ladies mixer. The ladies B interclub teams combine to host this fun luncheon. Stop by to cheer them on ad drop off a new, unwrapped toy or canned good item with the CVAC Concierge.
Super Bowl Team Tennis
This is an annual tennis event where participants represent Super bowl teams and compete in a fun team tournament. Lunch to follow. Cost is $15 / person.
We will be starting back up with the CVAC tennis Fiesta in May. This is a round robin social followed by a Mexican Fiesta with Margaritas at the cafe. Cost for the event will be $15.
Ladies Mother's Day Mixer
Celebrate Mother's Day with a fun ladies only tennis Social and Luncheon. Pricing may vary, please see the CVAC Conierge for details.
Tuesday Tennis Socials
Our summer time, bi-weekly tennis events. The Tuesday Tennis socials start at 5:30 pm and consists of a round robin tennis format followed by a buffet meal in the cafe. Cost is $15 / person and will include tennis, food and a drink. This is a seasonal event check with the CVAC Concierge for details.

CVAC Club Championships
Tennis play is in a tournament draw format with a back draw for consolation. $20 for first event, includes tournament
t-shirt. Categories include Men’s & Women’s Doubles, Singles, and Mixed Doubles for A, B, and C level players.
We have four CVAC Challenges throughout the year: Make it a Habit, Step It Up, Keep on Moving, and Race to the Finish. We kick off the new year’s challenge with CHOMP: Know Your Numbers, which gives members an on-site health screening designed to assess physical health, lifestyle, and disease risk.
Make it a habit & Keep on Moving: Join our 6 week fitness challenge and develop healthy habits for the rest of the year. Our Passport to a Healthy You will allow you to record your healthy lifestyle choices and gain points for them.
Step It Up and & Race to the Finish: Grab a pedometer and track your daily steps. The participant with the highest steps after a four week period wins.
Increase your flexibility, strengthen and release while the sun sets over the ocean. This class takes the place of our regular Thursday evening Mat class in the Fitness Studio. This is a monthly class that ocurrs seasonally between May and October. Class meets between 8th & 10th street at Carmel Beach.
These seminars are led by CVAC personal trainers and Pilates instructors. They cover a range of topics including basic exercise positions, injury prevention, mediation techniques, and more.
CVAC Turkey Trot
Give back, give thanks, give it all you’ve got for charity. Run, jog, or trot to complete Carmel Valley Athletic Clubs annual Turkey Trot. The whole family will have fun running or walking the South Bank Trail. 100% of proceeds go to the Monterey Food Bank. This 5K event starts at 8:30 am on Thanksgiving morning.
Party in Pink
This is a club wide event open to members and non-members that donates all of the proceeds to the Breast Cancer Assistance Group of Monterey County. Bring your friends, have fun, and join in the various group x classes around the club. Members and guests who donate $20 or more will receive their own “Party in Pink” merchandise and will be able to stay and utilize the club for the rest of the day. Browse vendor items in our lobby throughout the day.
Free Swim Clinics
Come down to the CVAC pool and learn new swim techniques. This free swim course will give you the opportunity to meet our instructors, familiarize yourself with our pool and see what our aquatics program has to offer. For ages 18 and up. All levels welcome.
Parent's Night Out
Kids will enjoy three hours of fun activities as parents have a night out on the town. Activities including arts & crafts, pajama play time & dinner. Cost is $12 for members & $15 for non-members.
This is a fun summertime event exclusive to CVAC campers and children taking swim lessons in our pool. Kids will enjoy supervised pool playtime and a sweet snack. This is a monthly after camp activity that runs from June to August.
Kids Judo Classes
This weekly class instructs students in the martial art and Olympic sport of Judo. Students will learn to fall safely, perform various throws, hold downs, and submission techniques. For children 6 to 13 years of age.
